Hi there just a quick update from me as I finally had some great news following my surgery (robotic) on 28th Feb. I've been really struggling with the waiting as I've recovered well from surgery and just want to be able to move forward. My CNS phoned me last night to say there was no cancer anywhere - not even in the womb lining where the cancerous polyp was attached and most importantly not in the lymph nodes they sampled. So I'm still Stage 1A. The only downside is that this team want to see the slides of the polyp removed by my local hospital back in December, as they have no tissue to confirm the grade or type. All I know is that it's high grade 3 and aggressive but not if its clear cell, serous etc which is critical to know to determine any further treatment I might need to prevent recurrence. I'm hoping by next week I will know everything, but this at least is the best news I've had since I started this journey xx
Hi Saz26
This is great news I bet you cannot stop smiling.
So happy for you i had my op on the 13th and my results too came back better than expected i had a suspicious lymph node aswell as womb turned out for me it was only in womb.
I did already know it was grade 3 serous but came back stage 1a too so was like you delighted. I do not see oncologist to discuss next steps but I think it will definitely be chemo.
Once again so pleased for you
Xx
Hi Saz26
Great news- hopefully not long to wait for details on the grading
Jane
Hi Saz26, really good news for you. I had a similar journey after being diagnosed with stage 1a grade 3 mix endometrial/ serous cancer in late July 2022. Pre op scans showed no spread and, after a total hysterectomy in October 2022, the post op histology showed the cancer was confined to a fibroid in the womb. So the original staging and grading remained the same. As a precaution I had PDR brachytherapy at the Weston Park Cancer Hospital in Sheffield in December 2022. I'm recovering well and have three monthly checks with the surgeon and 6 monthly checks with the oncologist. Wishing you well with your recovery.
