I’ve had to start a new thread as I can’t seem to post on the original one I started.
I had a hysteroscopy and biopsy last Wednesday…I’m getting a bit worried now as there is still blood appearing (when I wipe after a wee), it’s not a massive amount but enough to cause me concern, last time the bleeding stopped after a couple of days?
I’m now laying awake at night with all sorts going through my mind…I also have the worry that I’m very overweight and about to be diagnosed with T2 diabetes, so if I need a hysterectomy they probably won’t be able to do it..
my husband keeps telling me to stop worrying as no results are back yet but that’s easy for him to say it’s not him going through it.
Anybody else had this going on almost a week after biopsy taken?
Hello
After my hysteroscopy and biopsy I was told that it was very normal to experience some bleeding for up to ten days afterwards. They also said that some women experience a rush of blood at about day ten and not to be concerned about this.
I hope this helps, but if you’re still anxious maybe contact the hospital or your GP. Hopefully they’ll be able to reassure you that all is ok. We are filled with such fear and dread when we go through something like this that it’s natural to think that everything is a “bad” sign, when in fact it is all perfectly normal and something that the medics can explain to us.
Really thinking of you.

Thank you for that, that’s given me a bit of hope.. I can only reply under my own post for some reason.
It’s only natural to worry - there’s so much happening to us and a lot of it feels out of our control. The waiting and the wondering and the “what ifs…?” are very hard to deal with. I can imagine the turmoil you’re feeling. However, try to hold onto the fact that your team of medics are highly experienced and will have dealt with many, many cases like yours. They know what they’re doing, they’re highly skilled and above all else, they want the very best for you - and the best possible outcomes.
Sending love and strength to you

Apparently it’s quite normal to bleed a little for a while after hysteroscopy, I can’t recall how long until mine finished. It wasn’t much just a bit of pink when I had a pee. One of the info sheets I received said it is because the womb has a rich blood supply.
best wishes for everything. I was diagnosed with T2 diabetes and it is quite treatable with diet and/or medication
I’ve received a copy of the letter that was sent to my GP by the doctor who did my biopsy…I do wish they would use language us mere mortals understand, I’ve been Googling certain words and phrases she has used and now I’m even more worried, she mentions a possible intramural fibroid, two polyps of which one could be an adhesion band and the rest of the endometrium looked slightly haemmorthagic…
She asks at the end that they chase the biopsy result and then book me in for another hysteroscopy to remove the polyp.
At the top of the letter by the reference it says Cancer Pathway: No…but surely that should be yes as I was referred under the 2 week wait? Might that slow down results and further hysteroscopy?
Confused and more worried now than before, if that’s possible..
I would suggest calling the secretary of the doctor who did the surgery and ask about the Cancer Pathway note of ‘No’
my paperwork reads Green Pathway which might be code but certainly not alarming. I think medical folk can forget that terminology that makes sense to them and colleagues can be upsetting.
it does sound like they want to remove polyps which will then be sent for analysis. My polyp was removed during my hysteroscopy at the same time as biopsy and a general look around.
I asked if she would remove it at the same time as biopsy but she said they don’t do it like that there, last time followed the same path, biopsy, then next appointment was the hysteroscopy where I was told one of the polyps was in difficult to get at so I had to go back and have a general to remove it and the other two..this time it’s in a position where thry should be able to remove it without the need for a general…
I have emailed my GP to ask if they can get the hospital to clarify the No…I just couldn’t wait until Monday and not do anything..if I don’t hear back from GP by Monday afternoon I will ring the hospital…it all just adds to the worry
I rang the consultants secretary about the letter I received and she said it always says “no” under cancer pathway because they don’t like to worry people apparently it can’t be changed on the template…to me that is just daft as what about people, like me” who have been referred under the 2 week wait who might think it means everything is ok…but I’m glad I clarified it..
The consultant is on holiday until 2nd March but my biopsy result isn’t back yet anyway…if it comes back before he returns they pass it onto another consultant…in theory under the 2 week wait results should be back within 2 weeks but, of course, they are running behind (Dr who did hysteroscopy did say approx 4 weeks) and then it takes a further week for the consultant to write to me with the results…they can’t email them as there isn’t a box on the form for that (no wonder the NHS is in such a mess)..she told me to give her a ring when the four weeks are up, which will be a fortnight on Wednesday to see if anything is back.
Of course if the result is good I then have to wait for another hysteroscopy appointment to remove polyp(s) and then another 4 weeks for results of that…. By mid April I might be able to stop worrying ♀️
Well at least you now have a timeline and hopefully not one too full of worry.
Just had email from consultants secretary about my womb biopsy…all normal..so that’s half the worry gone and it wasn’t too long to wait for the result, just over 2 weeks..now have to wait for an appointment to have the polyp(s) removed and tested and a further wait for the results of that, but feeling a little less stressed now.
