Thank you for the support received during the uncertainty of my period of testing.
i was called on Monday to see the consultant today and the news wasn’t good.
The polyp removed during my hysteroscopy was cancerous and the MRI I had at end of December has indicated that it has spread into the mouth of the womb cervix. So far that was seen is it hasn’t gone further. My bowels fine. Says because of spread in womb it’s Stage 3.
so, I am in shock. The next phase is a referral to the Oncology team at big hospital looking to either hysterectomy and/or radiotherapy. I called in and had a good chat with the Macmillan volunteer at our local hospital.
Broke the news to my nearest and dearest. Did FaceTime with my girlfriend who is 3,000 miles away for two and a bit months
oh gosh ,so sorry to hear this, none of us wants to hear the "c" word but its good it has not spread ,i dont know much about this ,as im still awaiting results, but im sure the ladies on here will offer you more advice,i can only offer a virtual hug x
Hallo again Muse, I just replied to your “introducing me” post but then saw this one too so I thought I’d say hallo here as well. Bless you as you process the shock and let it all settle. Hope your appointment comes through soon. Feel free to click on my name if you want to read my story.
I have now read your story and found it very detailed. I am still new to this so feeling a bit overwhelmed
Thank you hug happily accepted. I think that the period of not knowing is worse than hearing what it is.
yes some days im like i want to know, and others days im like nope i can wait.i hope your appointment comes though soon though, today must have been hard for you,how long was it from the time you had hysteroscopy to results?i had my operation 13th Dec and still waiting x
Hello Muse, it’s totally understandable and usual to feel overwhelmed - be kind to yourself, the feeling will gradually start to settle and you’ll feel more able to manage the feelings and anxiety.
I had mine on the 16th December followed by MRI on 30th. I only heard from them yesterday and heard then that the polyp was cancerous. I had been told previous to this that results would be sent. Of course with mail strikes… I would think that you could chase up given it’s been a month
Yes. I am being kind to myself just saying do what I feel like.
yes think i will chase it up,oh wow monday for your appointment, thats good, write down everything you want to ask them, hope your allowed to take someone with you(if thats what you want)i bet your partner is worried for you being so far away. All the best for monday le us know how you get on x
