  • Hi- this is what I had. Hysterectomy was April 2022. 4 cycles of pacitaxol/carboplatin chemo, 25 cycles of external radiotherapy. Now have 3 monthly check ups. I was stage 1b

  • Hi just been diagnosed with grade 3 stage 1 endometrium cancer. Looking at the treatment plan you had looks similar to what i am about to undertake .

Any tips support for how you managed and coped through treatment process will be so appreciated.

You have endured a lot and although its sad to see so many others experiencing this journey i dont feel so alone using this forum .

  • Hi Loudee- tip is to stay off google etc and use this site for the most up to date info and draw on the support from people on here. From my experience it is best to concentrate on one thing at a time and I did that with my hysterectomy first. I was stage 1b but it was not until after the surgery when the pathology results came back that further treatment was advised. I had hoped that the hysterectomy would have been sufficient. My chemo and radio were for adjuvant purposes because grade 3 (there are different types and they can never be completely sure until after surgery)- tends to need further treatment to reduce the chances of it recurring. It has not been an easy journey but it is doable. Any questions please feel free to ask and don't feel alone

  • Hi jane2511 - your diagnosis sounds just like mine. I've been through surgery, chemo starts stvFeb. Not looking forward to it, or the following radiotherapy, but I will survive it all.

  • Hi Maths-it can feel overwhelming when it is all ahead of you. Try to concentrate on one appt at a time- its not easy but it helped me. Chemo was not easy but everyone is different and looking back, although it was not pleasant- it was doable. The first one was the worst as you don't really know what to expect. I was really anxious about it. With radiotherapy I found that people would say that it was easy compared to chemo and if I could get through that it would be a walk in the park. No- it wasn't but they are different treatments working in different ways. The chemo was hard on the actual day and for a few days after but then I had time to recover before the next cycle began. My radiotherapy was external beam and I had to do 25 sessions over 5 weeks. That was more full on as it is tiring doing it everyday- both the travelling and the tummy effects. Any questions please don't be afraid to ask

  • Hi ElviM

i have Carcinosarcoma which is an equally aggressive and rare Cancer. I had radical hysterectomy September 2022

I was 1a. No invasion anywhere found very early. I was not offered chemo or radiation as there was no spread

The national guidelines recommend chemo for all stages but they are changing opinion on this for 1a with no invasion to the Myometrial  is what I was told by my oncologist

I go for follow up exams every 3 months for one year, and then every 6 months after.
CT scan is given if there are symptoms
