Hi everybody
Hope youbare enjoying the festive season.
I have a little question. I had a total hysterectomy in April of this year to treat early stage endometrial cancer. Did not require any follow up treatment.
I have been doing absolutely fine but have developed very intermittent fresh bleeding. I don't think I have any other symptoms.
I am obviously anxious and have a follow up appointment next with gynae consultant.
Has anybody else experienced this? and if yes, what was the out come.
I am hoping it is related to stopping HRT at same time of op.
Very best wishes
S
Hi S, sorry to hear about your problem, I can understand how anxious you feel but glad that you will be seeing the gynea consultant. I was diagnosed at stage 1A grade 1 in July 19, had my full hysterectomy in August 19 I didn't need any further treatment and was put on the patient initiated follow up. In October 20 I noticed a very small smear of blood on the toilet paper after going for a wee, after this happened a couple of times I decided to call my CNS . She said it could be from vaginal dryness but she would speak to the gynea consultant and I would get an appointment if they felt I needed to be seen. Sure enough a few days later an appointment arrived, at the appointment I was examined and nothing unusual was seen but the consultant said I should have an MRI to make sure. I had one that same week, then I had to wait a few weeks for a letter which thankfully said the MRI was clear. With the letter was also an appointment for 3 months time to check how I was getting on, I have had no more bleeding since and no other symptoms.
I do look in on this sight occasionally and respond if I feel I can help, all the ladies are lovely and so so helpful.
Hi Carolina61
Thank you so much for replying, very much appreciated and very helpful.
I am just hoping nothing sinister, but time will tell.
Will feed back once I have been reviewed.
Happy New Year x
