Hi - ive been recently diagnosed with Leiomyosarcoma starting in my womb. i have a large mass in there now. i also have multiple lesions in my lungs - I have stage 4b. i am starting chemo next week, but just wonder if anyone with any similar experiences?

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

Although I have not had the same diagnosis as you, I know what an emotional time it can be when told that you have cancer. I'm sure you'll quickly get lots of support here.

As leiomyosarcoma is a type of soft tissue sarcoma you might also benefit from joining and posting in that group too. If this is something that you'd like to do just click on the link I've created which will take you directly there. You can then join and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

When you feel up to it, it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

    Hi Boo12,

Sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Although your cancer is different, I am also 4b and had spread to lungs and bone. I have recently had chemotherapy, last session was last month, recent CT shows no active cancer, hopefully your chemo will be just as effective.

If you need any information or support with chemo, there is a separate thread on here. Have you had a look at the Macmillan booklets available to read online. I found by reading about it all helped me feel a bit more in control.

Best wishes for your treatment Fingers crossed

    A x
