Hi everyone,
Well, I did it, I completed my 3rd and final session on Thursday, I've been full of a cold since Friday so I'm only just getting round to posting, my transport turned up an hour before my appointment, so I was 30 mins early, as I had a coughing fit on the Tuesday I went prepared with cough sweets and a bottle of water, typically they were running behind an hour, so I had quite a wait, the young male nurse finally called me in and apologised for my wait, explaining that the machine had to be reset or something, I was prepared and the male nurse asked whether I'm gonna cough again and laughed, I said I'm prepared just in case, the left the room and I waited, and waited, and waited, felt like 5 mins and nothing was happening, no noise from the machine, no whirring sound or knocking, I was just about to wave my hand to get their attention when it kicked into life, I'm sure I had the dodgy machine lol, told him as much when he came into the room, apparently it can do that, so I got dressed and he asked if I was going to ring the bell, I thought why not, I'm glad I did and feel some kind of closure now, I'm due back to see my consultant on the 23rd of November, I'm assuming for a check up and a chat about moving forward, thank you to all of you who have shared your experiences and made my journey an easier one, I'm staying on here to read other people's experiences and might just jump in if the mood takes me.xxxxxxx
Well done Proudnanny for completing your treatment and ringing that bell!! After my last chemo I also said thanks to the nurses but in the nicest possible way, I never want to see you again!! Hope you are soon over your cold and can start to get on with your life xx
Congratulations Proudnanny, doesn't it feel good to ring that bell? I don't know why I was sorry anxious about doing it, as you say it's feels great to know its the end of your treatment. Hope that you get over your cold quickly and start getting back you enjoying life.
Hugs Sue xx
