Hi everyone, I have advanced endometrial cancer which is now incurable. I am continuing with the last two cycles of Paclitaxol, in the hope this will give some relief. My problem is the extreme abdominal distension and pain. Due to pressure on the stomach, I can only eat and drink tiny portions and I am always hungry. There is no relief from the abdominal pressure. Has anyone experienced this and if so how do you cope?
Sending thoughts and hugs to everyone enduring cancer treatment x
Hi Beat and welcome to the group. I'm sorry to read of your situation especially as I am in the same boat. My cancer metastasized nearly a year ago and I've now lesions on liver and spleen and masses in peritoneum, omentum, pelvis and above vaginal cuff. Finished 6 cycles of paclitaxel and carboplatin in March and recent scan shows deposits now hardly visible which is great but they'll be back by the New Year. My treatments thankfully relieved the pressure on my bowel and the mass between my liver and ribs and I am now totally pain free, been off the morphine for some months now.
My appetite is back to normal whereas before I ate less, hopefully completion of your last 2 cycles will reduce the pressure. Have a chat with your CNS to see if they can advise in any way. You could also give the nurses a call on the Macmillan support helpline, freephone no. 0808 808 00 00.
I'm also going to suggest you join the Living with incurable cancer forum. (just click on the link I've attached) You'll find a lot of support there as have I on those dark days. There's a lot of humour and hugs when you need it. Hope to see you there.
Sending welcoming hugs, Barb xx

Hi Barb,
Hi beat,
Sorry to hear your news and that you are so uncomfortable. Please click on my username to read my history. I am in the same position. I have gone from ? Stage 1 and contained in January 2022 to Stage 4 and incurable in April.
I am currently due my 3rd cycle of chemo next week and have had 5 sessions of radiotherapy in June for symptom control (to shrink secondary vaginal tumours to minimise pain and to improve my mobility. Could this be an option for your situation?
I hope your situation improves and that you take some comfort from the fact that you are not alone. The incurables group are a lovely bunch and like a laugh, usually with a bit of sarcasm thrown in. Take care,
Amanda x
