Hi have recently been diagnosed with early stage and grade of endometrial cancer, and wanted to know if it’s really necessary to have the ovaries removed?
I do empathise with you . I have no children of my own but have decided I'm fine with that I have had a very different discussion with my consultant re: ovaries though. Mine told me an oophectomy at a later stage on its own would be a quite simple day case and a two week recovery.
My brother's girlfriend also has a hysterectomy at the start of the year (for endometriosis) and kept her ovaries. She's having a bit of a battle getting on a list for ovary removal (she's still in a lot of pain). You might want to get a different opinion. Although me and her are being treated at the same hospital her consultant and mine seem to have very different attitudes.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
