Hi Senga, I’m sorry you’ve had these worries. Did you have an MRI pre hysterectomy and what did the histology show the stage to be?
Thank you for replying
I did not get mri scan before hysterectomy and as far as i know it was stage 1 grade 1B endometrial cancer.
Thanks Senga - could I just ask how were you originally diagnosed? It’s just that my initial grade was diagnosed by hysteroscopy and probably stage by MRI. I’d suggest waiting for your X ray on Monday and then checking with your GP again after that.
I had a visit to post menopausal bleeding clinic and biopsy taken. Further biopsies were requested and i went back for hysteroscopy. I was then told it was stage 1 and had my hysterectomy. Histology came back and i was informed it was grade B.
Thank you for your advice.
Senga are you in the UK? It’s just that here we usually have umbers for grades and numbers or numbers plus letters for stages. The reason I’m asking is that again in the UK initial staging is done via CT or MRI and then confirmed after hysterectomy. Staging would have checked for any spread. Stage 1B would mean confined to the uterus. There should be a number for the grade if in the UK
Hi I would press for your Oncology appointment to be brought forward from 31st March and wouldn't worry about bothering them, if you've recurred they'd need to know sooner than later.
I myself was stage 1b/ grade 3 serous. Had 3 sessions of Brachytherapy. I'd had 4 quarterly internal gynae exams and was pronounced clear yet I had a pain in my abdomen and was breathless when exerted. My chest and heart X-ray was clear but a CT scan did show I'd recurred. Just finished 6 cycles of chemo and feeling well. Scan after cycle 3 showed 50% regression so I hope the next shows even more.
So I'd get on the phone on Monday and tell your CNS about your concerns.
Your copy of your letter from Oncologist to your GP should show your exact stage and grade. I know from your bio you're stage 1B as you mentioned it had grown into the womb by more than 50%
Big hugs, Barb

Actually Marmitefan it’s not always done like that, I think it depends on the way the hospitals operate and what symptoms you present with.. I myself only had a transvaginal scan with a biopsy done at the same time. When the results from the biopsy came back they showed cancer cells were present. I never had a ct scan or mri and all I was told was that it had been caught early. After my hysterectomy I was told Grade 1 Stage 1B, I know some ladies here were told the size of the tumour, but my team said they don’t measure like that. So I think it’s fair to say diagnosis depends on where you live etc.
Thanks Jigsaw33 this is definitely a learning curve as I assumed diagnostic procedures would be the same or similar under the NHS.
Thank you for replying thats the same procedures i think i got and my diagnosis was the same as yourself. I hope you are well and wish you all the best. X
