Hi Lara, so pleased to hear you've finished brachy! Hope all goes well for you in next three months - I have my first follow-up on 4 Feb and can hardly believe it's three months since surgery (sometimes feels like another lifetime ago). I started using the dilators about two weeks after brachy finished but you may want to wait till cystitis has cleared up. Whatever you do, take care, and stay safe. Dx
Hi do you mind me asking wat grade and stage u was? Well done on completing treatment x
Hi Lara 5
Welcome to the brachyTshirted ladies! It's not as bad as we'd thought it'd be was it? Just undignified - I the teams doing brachytherapy are brilliant, all very reassuring.
I'm seeing a gynae consultant today for a checkup. My op was 4 months ago and brachy finished early November. I was supposed to have a phone check-up about 19th December but didn't get a call, assumed it was because of Christmas then New Year. Phoned my CNS yesterday and she was quite put out I'd not heard from anyone, Said she call me back in 10, she did & I'm seeing one of the senior consultants at 2pm today, then my Oncologist for my first 3 month check probably next week. Was beginning to think my name had dropped through the cracks.
Speak again in 3 months, big hugs, Barb xx

Hi I am grade 3 stage 1A
not spread and all inside womb
just been checking my discharge letter after hysterectomy it does say I will be getting appointment to see consultant 2/3 weeks after but didn’t get appointment I haven’t actually heard anything from gynae department I got an early one from oncologist but I couldn’t go as still sore .then had to cancel bracky because of being hospitalised with sepsis
Before bracky was given, oncologist examined me so I guess that was the follow up and now just had an appointment in for early March
So hope all on the way forward
stay safe xx
Hi Lara,
I’ve had my first brachytherapy session today! (Total hysterectomy on 10th Nov) I was surprised at how it went. I’d been worrying unnecessarily and was pleasantly surprised at the ease of which it was done. The staff were friendly and supportive. I’ve got two further sessions next week and that’s it!
Good luck with your recovery
