Had around half my clips removed by the District Nurse today after my hysterectomy. Most came out easily without pain but the last few she tried to take out actually hurt. Is there anything I can do to ease the pain of the clip removal?
Ouch poor you WishingWell.46, I didn’t have clips but dissolvable stitches although i did have a pesky one that didn’t drop out and my consultant removed it, actually a funny story he decided to make me laugh so then i had trouble keeping still but still managed to have it removed without pain. Have they prescribed you any pain relief? Other then that I honestly don’t know. But I wonder whether an ice pack may ease it, if nothing else it may numb the area. I really hope the pain eases very quickly but if it persists I would recommend a quick call to your CNS or Gp to see of they can offer some advice for you.
gentle bear hugs your way.

Hi, you could use an antiseptic cream that includes a local anaesthetic too, germolene or savlon that should help.
