On my hospital discharge forms after TAH and BSO it said scan indicated stage 1A but with noted POD deposits. Friday 15 January day I will be told results of analysis of everything that was taken and what treatment, if any, is recommended.
Hello WishingWell.46
I can't find references to POD deposits anywhere. To be honest, it's best to wait until you meet with your surgeon/oncologist on 15th. By then they will have histology results to hand which will accurately confirm what stage/grade you're at. My initial results after MRI scan suggested stage 1A grade 1 but histology after op revealed stage 1b/grade 3.
Try not to worry and overthink things, easy to say, impossible to do. Come back and let us know what happens after your appointment.
Big reassuring hugs to you, Barb xx

Hi WishingWell46,
Hope you're recovering OK from surgery, although I think waiting for results is probably the hardest part of all.
The only reference I could find to the POD acronym and anatomy was something called the Pouch of Douglas but I have no idea whether it is relevant to your scan (I have no medical experience and relied on Google for this...). While you're waiting for your results, perhaps you could speak to your CNS and ask them to explain what it means?
As Mrs BJH says, try not to worry (easier said than done, especially in these difficult days) - time to take it easy and let your body heal. Let us know how you're getting on.
Take care, stay safe,
Dx
Hi WishingWell.46, i had to go and have a look about what POD deposits are and found two different meanings which maybe connected or not and honestly I wouldn’t like to guess incase its wrong.I agree with everyone that it may help you to give your clinical nurse specialist CNS a little call and ask they explain it all to you. I hope you are recovering well from your op and not over doing things its easily done. Good luck with your results on the 15th i hope you get good news on that front.
sending you a gentle bear hug

HiWishingWell.46 Hopefully tomorrow you will get an explanation of what your discharge letter says and about any further treatment.needed. I do think it is unfortunate when one gets information like this in scientific/medical terms when you are not in a face to face situation with the result that you are unable to comprehend the meaning. I have read similar posts from other people who have found themselves in the same position - baffled by acronyms and medical jargon !
