hi. Need help. Loosing my mind
Iv been having pain for 5 mths
couldnt see a gp face to face only on telephone consultation. Gp kept treating me with constipation even though I was telling them I was opening my bowels every day. Quite often very loose
by chance I phoned gp and a locum called me back this was 4mths into calling every week she agreed to see me and had rectal exam and she felt my tummy and said I wasn’t constipated she referred me to see gynaecologist
3weeks waiting and a few trips to A&E finally got to be seen by gynaecologist he said I shouldn’t be in this much pain and thought it still could be a bowel problem but would organise a ultrasound scan waited another 3weeks
12th November got scan and TVS they found as radiographer described it as a 4cm x 4cm blood filled uterus. She said I need to be seen urgently and don’t get fobbed off
I heard nothing on the Thursday and nothing on the Friday. Monday 16th I get a call from gynaecologist. He said they had found something and I needed a urgent mri I got a bit worried and yes dr google got quizzed
had MRI ON 20th Nov again lady said she would do report and I would hear by the following Wednesday (5) days as it was Friday and it being the weekend
I waited all that week and nothing my daughter called pal as she was very worried as I have already lost 2 stone and couldn’t eat I was just having the odd snack but couldn’t eat a meal pals called me on the Tuesday morning I explained my worries and she said she would chase radiographer there and then surprise surprise I got a call that afternoon saying the report had been done and had gone to my consultant So I called his secretary but had left for the day. While all this was going I. I had been rushed into A&E 12 times in 6 weeks as the pain was that bad I was passing out. Nothing would control the pain not once since the 16th have I spoken to my consultant no calls no letters no reassurance
yesterday I got rushed in again and nothing was getting on top of the pain. To say labour pain is bad. This was like nothing else. On ward round this morning I was told I need emergency op by a consultant I’d never seen. This was at 9am. I was in theatre at 11:30.
when I was in recovery. He came and told me that my cervix wouldn’t fully open as it’s scared badly. Then he said they couldn’t remove all the mass as there was too many lesions and scaring. They have taken biopsies and I needed a full hysterectomy
I’m so scared and just don’t know what to think. My life is on hold.
They said I should hear about results 3/4 days but it’s the weekend again.
I got tested Tuesday for covid and got negative result
last night at 21:00 got tested again going onto ward
this morning at 9am got fast result covid test. 9:30 cam back negative
had surgery at 11 30
in recovery with everyone else in same room
got back to ward at 14:30. 15:00 2 people came back into my room all fully PPE on and told I was tested positive for covid and need to go on covid ward.
I have no symptoms at all temp 36.2 no loss of taste or smell no cough no headache
i refused to go to covid ward and said I want to go home.
im at home now not knowing what to think or do
Hi
I'm so sorry to hear how you're feeling at the moment. It sounds like you've been through a great deal and now having to deal with a positive covid test on top of everything else can't be easy.
Waiting for the results of tests and biopsies is never easy but I think from your message that your results should be ready by the end of this week. You might find it helpful to take a look at this information on how to ease worry when waiting for medical test results.
When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Do come back and let us all know how you get on and, in the meantime, try to occupy yourself doing things you enjoy.
((hugs))
Dear Trace2270,
What a terrible experience you have had, you have really had to fight for everything. It shouldn’t be this way. Good to hear that you got PALs involved. Have you had the result of the MRI yet? I got result within 3 working days, had it on a Friday so waited until Wednesday. I found waiting for results challenging but then I am rather impatient.
I hope that you start getting the care you deserve, hopefully you’ll get some rest at home.
Sending you best wishes and a warm virtual hug.
Honey
