Hi all
I have been diagnosed last month with grade 1 womb cancer i am morbidly obese so have to lose a lot of weight before they will consider any surgery i was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and how they dealt with it i am 41 and have no children and I'm worried i may never have them
Hi Womb,
I didn't have the same issues as you, but when I was 57 (now 76)I was deemed overweight and with high cholesterol. I was told if I didn't diet I would have a stroke. That scared me into action!! I was given a diet sheet by the hospital, and am surprised if you have not been referred to a dietitian there. I began to look at food, and discovered that everything I liked was bad news! I was told not to touch anything with a fat content of over 4 % . At first I read every label and cut out sugar, too. After a few months I knew what I should have and what not to have. I cut out cheese, red meat, had saccharin in coffee and went for low fat content whenever I could. I still have salad for lunches, and eat mainly chicken and fish. I took up walking and swimming once a week. I lost quite a lot of weight. I still keep an eye on the weight and try to keep it down. The nurse said that If I had a bad weekend with food it was Ok as long as I got back to the diet again. I find that if I put on 2 lbs over a weekend I can lose it during the next week. Hope some of this helps. XXXXX
