Well, I've just had my third and final brachytherapy session. Like Mrs JBH I'm pleased it's all over and I am so thankful to the NHS staff. This cancer is in such an intimate area, and the NHS staff give everyone so much respect, and try to preserve our dignity at every step. The whole treatment has been handled so sensitively.
I didn't get sent home with a little box of delights ( vaginal dilators!) my oncologist said I will have to come in for an appointment with my nurse in two or three months time to have the 'talk'. And I am now on three monthly checks.
As everyone says, it's been a rollercoaster ride, but I am still feeling a bit numb. Everything has happened so fast I find it hard to believe. And now I can't quite convince myself that it's gone. And although I feel I need to, I haven't shed a single tear yet. Perhaps in the next few days it will hit me. The prosecco is on ice, but I think that will keep until tomorrow when a new stage in my life starts, living life to its fullest.
This forum has been a source of inspiration, comfort and support. I may now stop checking in every hour, but I really do wish everyone here all the best with their treatments, diagnoses and everything else. Stay strong and stay hopeful, always.

Hi Viv
Good to hear you've finished your Brachytherapy, not the most dignified thing I've ever done, but as you said the staff every step of the way have been just brilliant, wherever you may be.
Thank you, and all the others for sharing this journey with me, it's been an eyeopener!
Stay safe, Barb xx
