Hello,
I was diagnosed with VIN3 & HPV in 2017. I had a wide local excision and since then have gone back to the hospital every 6 months to be checked over. The last visit was in June this year.
I have the worst itching in my vulva and around my anus, have been prescribed every cream/ointment there is on the market to help with the itching, but nothing works. I’m concerned about the itching and worried it’s going to lead to vulva cancer.
My next visit to the hospital is not until the end of November.
Has anyone else out there suffered something similar?
Hi
Have you had a look down below? Can you see anything unusual where you are experiencing the itching?
X
Hi,
There are no lumps, it’s just red and angry looking. I had a small white lump before, that’s why my GP referred me.
The itching is a nightmare and making me so miserable.
Hi
The itching was the worst thing for me as well. I honestly felt like I could have ripped my skin off if it would have given me some relief!
Is there anyone you can speak to about getting seen any sooner than November?
Hi,
I will try and get an appointment with the doctor beforehand. Only problem is there was only one GP at my surgery that was familiar with VIN, others didn’t have a clue what it was. One locum GP looked it up in a medical dictionary.
It is so difficult now to see one particular doctor at my surgery.
I know how you felt with the itching, it’s awful and I sometimes scratch so much I bleed.
Thank you for replying to me, it really helps knowing your not the only one with the problem.
No problem at all. Maybe you could bypass the GP.....have you got a contact number for the hospital? Let them know that changes have occurred and that you are struggling with the effects of them?
Hi. They told me nothing could help but I found anusol it's a pile cream helped with the itching for the AIN and dermawash to wash in really helped with other. Ive even hadvto got up in the night and got the shower head on my bits and washed it with dermawash to cool it down and it's given it some relief. X
Yes I think I will do that. Hope everything goes well for you x
Hi,
I use the dermal wash and my consultant also recommended Epaderm and advised me to apply it after showering.
I haven’t tried the pile cream, but will give it a try. Thank you for your advice x
Thanks.....I've nearly finished treatment now. Let me know how you go on. I hope they see you a lot sooner.
