Cancelled surgery!!!

Sooooooo frustrated

I was due to have my operation on Monday to have it removed and it’s been cancelled!! Apparently the surgeon has cancelled his whole theatre list that day.

I had organised everything at work, my husbands work, my daughters, my youngest daughters school and I haven’t been told when it will be.

the area is so sore right now and keeps splitting and bleeding and even walking is making it sore. The CNS ladies have said I can only use Vaseline for lubricant for now because it’s an open wound.

i came home early from work today in tears firstly from how sore it is and secondly frustration from how such a small area on my body is having such a big impact on my life and other peoples

Hi MrsSJM,

Sorry to hear your operation was cancelled. My operation was also cancelled but that was because I caught COVID, but it was rescheduled and carrried out 3 weeks later. Could you not telephone your consultants department and ask when it has been rescheduled for? Macmillan's nurses at the hospital are very helpful and they might be able to find out for you.

This is so stressful for you, I was given a inhaler (like a Vicks one) that was made up by the holistic team at Barts to reduce my stress and I would not have got through everything without it.

I am sorry I cannot give any advice on the soreness as I did not have this, but I wish you well and hope you can get a new date for your operation.
