I had a small amount of cancer removed from my vulva on 9th January 26. I used a sitz bath, padded vilva dry afterwards. Took painkillers ,unfortunately even though i tried to keep area clean i developed an infection. Luckily I was already given some antibiotics.

I went back to work on 19th January,  but got a urine infection. So went to ward 1, where they checked me over, took urine sample and gave me a course if antibiotics.

Ive to go back to preston for my results on 2nd Feb 26. It was originally going to be a phone call, but consultant wants a face to face

My anxiety is at a high at the moment,  I know im overthinking stuff, but I trying to keep a posative mind. Not easy when you cannot stop thinking the worst case scenario. Please help to calm me down ladies xx

  • Sending calming vibes to you.  It’s not easy waiting for results and a consultation.  You did well returning to work.  Please keep in touch and hope all goes well.

  • Hi Blondi,

I would not worry too much about your appointment being changed to a face to face as my consultant told me that if the bookings team tried to give me a telephone consultation to tell them it has to be face to face.  They also want to check you over as you have had a couple of infections.  I had vulva cancer in 2022 and had a WLE and I am still having 6 monthly face to face check ups and will until at least 2027 and I think it will then change to yearly.  Personally I think you went back to work early as you are not meant to do a lot of things for 6 weeks after your operation.

Good Luck for Monday and please let us know how you get on. xx

  • Thank you sharon0380.

Im trying to keep calm and not worry too much xx

  • I prefer face to face, to confirm that all is well. I am on 6 months appointments, then will go to yearly in June.
