Hi Everyone, just an up-date from last speaking to you all. I have had an MRI scan and went for my results last week. The Consultant has had a MDT meeting with Christie's and they want the whole Bartholin gland removed and biopsied.
So had my pre-op today and scheduled for the operation on Tuesday. They said it could take 2-3 weeks for the biopsy results to come back. I'm so nervous about the operation and wondering if anyone else has had it done and what it entails??
Hi Dhd
My cancer was endometrial so I hope you do not mind me replying.
With any surgery it is natural to feel nervous and to have questions about what will happen. Hopefully someone who has had the same procedure will see your post and offer some support soon but in the meantime why not give the Support Line a call and talk it through with one of the nurses. The Support Line is there from 8am-8pm daily.
I hope it all goes well tomorrow and I am sure you will be well looked after. When I had my surgery there was a fair bit of waiting around on the day so it may be an idea to take a book, magazine, phone etc to keep you busy while you wait.
Do let us know how you get on.
Jane
