As I'm aged over 65 and no longer called for cervical screening and had a diagnosis of VIN3 with vulval wide excision surgery should I pay privately for cervical screening?
Hi JEB123
Before making the decision to pay privately, I’d check with your GP on your particular situation. Because you’ve had abnormal vulval cells, I’d be concerned about future screenings too. How long ago was your last cervical screening, and when did you have your excision surgery? If you’ve had all normal screenings in the past with no cervical abnormalities you wouldn’t normally be recalled now, but I think it’s worthwhile checking whether you can have a screening arranged via your gp to put your mind at rest.
