Hi so its 6 months since my surgery. All seems to be going well and healing nicely.

So the positives, at this moment they say they have removed all the cancer and I don't have any signs of Lymphoedema.

The negatives, well it could come back and I could still get Lymphoedema.  For me there is no 5 years and you are clear.

I will always hate that part of my body and will never recover from the fact my Clitoris was removed and I look like nothing down there,  however, after having counselling (which I never thought I would do)  I am definitely more at peace with myself.  I don't think people see me as a the freak I feel like.

I've had lots of things happen to me in my lifetime but this has been the most traumatic.

Its also sad that I was communication with some others on this website and they stopped messaging.  There are very few of us that this happens to and we should support each other. If they are all well and don't want to hear from anyone they should say thanks for your help and advise and bye.

Well that's me updated.

  • Hi ,

I am pleased that everything seems to be healing well and that they have removed all of your cancer! I totally understand the ongoing worry though.

It sounds as though the counselling has helped, which is great. In my experience time also helps. It helps to adjust to the ‘new you’ and the ongoing worries. Well it has helped in my case anyway.

I’m sorry to hear the communication with others on here has stopped. I am always here if you would like to chat and hopefully  the other members will be back at some point, after a bit of a break.

    Take care,

    Vulval cancer warrior xx
