Hi, My Mum has been told that her Vulva stage 4 cancer has spread to her Liver. She will be starting 6 sessions of intravenous Chemotherapy in a couple of weeks.
I suppose I am really just looking to see if anyone else has been through this?
Bit of background my Mum was diagnosed with Stage 4 vulva cancer (it had spread to lymph nodes) in Sept 2019 & she had 4 sessions of Chemo followed by 30 sessions of Radiotherapy with 6 special chemo sessions.
The cancer had almost disappeared 3 months after treatment finished & she was being monitored every 3 months since. Mid last year 2 tumours appeared, they had hoped they were scaring from all the radiotherapy showing on the scans so they did a watch & wait treatment. The something more showed on her CT scan last month so they sent her for a PET scan which sadly showed the cancer had returned & spread to her Liver. She has been told no more radiotherapy will be done.
Has anyone had this or in the same position as me & have a relative with this?
Thank you all.
Hi SMKF,
I am sorry to hear your mum's cancer has spread to her liver.
My experience was different to your mums. I didn’t have chemo or radiotherapy. Hopefully someone who can relate will come along soon. In the meantime I’m always happy to chat at any point if you need a listening ear.
I hope someone with experience comes along real soon.
Take care,
