Hi
Is anyone else waiting for a referral to happen? Or has any good thoughts about coping in the waiting stage. I am finding it really hard. I’ve had a diagnosis of Paget’s disease of the vulva through the consultant dermatologist doing a biopsy. I know it is likely to be similar treatments to other vulvar cancers. But in the meantime I need the gynaecologist to pick up on the urgent referral my dermatologist sent. I’ve no idea how long this might take. I know I will need lots of scans and tests to see if it has spread further. And in the meantime the discomfort from the irritation, itchiness etc is just getting worse. At the moment, I feel between any doctor I can talk to. Just a bit in limbo!
Got a phonecall from the consultant gynaecologist today which I very much appreciated. She has referred me for an early appointment at the gynaecological oncology clinic and also for a CT scan. She’s also asking my GP to prescribe an emulsifying spray and Dermol to ease the discomfort so a good phonecall!
