I have had Lichen Sclerosus for 9 years now. Since 2014 it has gotten steadily worse after some flare ups, and I've had a biopsies done. Last Tuesday the 25th of Feb I had 5 vulvar biopsies done, and my gynae consultant sent them off to be looked at urgently. I am still in a lot of pain where the stitches are, and because one biopsy was near my back passage, it's a nightmare when going to the toilet. Especially as I also have a prolapse. My vulval area is still itchy and feels sore and raw. I have to sit on a pillow, and drive with a pillow. My mother had the same thing, and hers developed into vulvar cancer, and she passed away...
So I find myself patiently waiting for my results. How long are waiting times now a days? I know when mum was diagnosed, it was exactly two weeks later when she got her results and told that she had cancer. That was back in 2002, and she dies in 2004. My gynaecologist said the most biopsies she could do down there was 5. That was traumatic enough getting that done. I think it was the needles more than anything going into such a sensitive area. Sorry if people feel like I'm ranting but it's just I feel so alone & feel I have no one to talk to about it all. So I'm so glad to have this forum xxxx
