I just logged into an old email account and thought I would post a good news story about having cancerous strains of HPV. This induced VIN 3 and CIN 2/3 from 2014. However, as of last year 2019 September, I was tested and found to be free of HPV. I wanted to just write because this group was really supportive to me and my journey and you can look at my past posts to see how terrified I was.
At one of the most stressful years of my life during studies and a terrible level of self neglect, I was devastated to be diagnosed with VIN 2/3 and subsequently CINE 3 which was treated with the LEETZ operations. This was all around 2014 and went through more than 3 surgeries to remove affected areas for VIN 2 and 3 until 2017 sometimes tereated very brutally. I also went through Aldara Treatment.
I ended up seeing an amazing female specialist on the NHS who also lectures on VIN, at the end of many consultations with male surgeons who advocated treating everything with the knife, which I know was needed at one time.
I was really angry about not knowing anything about HPV, being told by various specialists that it would be with me for life and that once cancerous changes had manifested nothing would change this. I eventually accepted this, but felt doomed that HPV and VIN was going to unmanageable, or end up killing me.
The following changes after my last surgery happened, (not because of VIN, but I think these were factors on how HPV was cleared and that it was entrely linked to my immune system, stress and overrall happiness.) but weren't motivated by 'getting over VIN'.
Since my last post here in 2017, I left a lonely and neglected relationship. I moved out and set up a whole new life of creativity and expression living on my own for the first time in over 15 years. I decided not to ever work in an office ever again, set up my own company and became a remote freelance contractor to decide my own hours.
I think this all improved my overrall mental and physical health and my immune system responded. This wasn't about diet or anything specific. Up until 2018, I was post-surgery high risk HPV positive with VIN 1/2.
I was looking into paying privately for the Gardisil 9 because one consultant had said that it couldn't hurt to take the vaccine just in case it changed something. Then, I decided to get tested privately and was astonished to be HPV free.
Anyway, I just wanted to thank this board for being there.
Hi, I am glad that you are free of HPV now. That is a great news! Can I ask you that are you under 45 yrs old? Do you live in UK?
I also have tried to get Gardisil a few years ago, but I could not get it because I have an egg allergy(but I found out later it is safe to have it), I was 44 years that time. Now I did not know you can get Gardisil 9 if you are under 45 yrs old, which is I am 46 now. I live in the US and I am told that it may be difficult to find a place to have the vaccine since I am over 45. I still keep having VINs(1-3) for a couple of years and need surgery. I am HPV positive(16,18 and others), I was hoping that I could try the vaccine. I also tried Aldara cream which did not work for me.
