  • Hi

I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling financially at the moment. Certainly it's something you could do without when you're dealing with a cancer diagnosis.

Take a look at this information from Macmillan on managing your energy costs and give their energy advice team a call on 0808 808 0000. It's free to call and available Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm.

You might also find this information about benefits and other financial support helpful in seeing what you might be entitled to. If you scroll to the bottom of the page you'll see there's a benefits checker and benefits calculator to help you as well. You can also call the Macmillan Support Line free on 0808 808 0000 and speak to one of their welfare rights team. They are available Monday to Friday from 8am to 8pm.

Macmillan also do one-off grants and this information will show if this is something you could be entitled to.

When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

    I hope this information helps.
