Hello

My mum has been told her vulva cancer is inoperable.  She has been having 5 weeks of chemo (once a week) and radiotherapy (5 days a week) treatment.  She is in a lot of pain and is constantly being sick.  Is anyone else in this position, and if yes, has the treatment helped?

It is awful watching someone you love be in so much pain, and not knowing if the treatment is giving her a chance or not.

Thank you

  • Hi  and welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to hear that your mum has been diagnosed with vulva cancer and that she is struggling with pain and sickness. Has she spoken to the team that is treating her about this as they would want to be able to get on top of her pain and give her, or change, the anti sickness meds that she's currently on?

I'm not a member of this group but I noticed that your post hadn't had any responses. By replying to you it will 'bump' it back to the top of the page where it'll be seen again.

You might also like to join the family and friends group which is a safe and supportive place to discuss your worries about your mum and get support.

To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and ask questions after selecting 'start a discussion' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your mum's journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
