I have recently had treatment for the above and in considerable pain can anyone tell me how long this pain will last and when will normality resume. TIA

  • Hi  and a warm welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to hear that you are in a considerable amount of pain. Hopefully you've been in touch with your CNS since you posted this and she has sorted out, or advised you on, appropriate pain relief.

As I haven't had this condition I don't have any experience as to how quickly everything will return to normal but I noticed that your post had gone unanswered.

While you're waiting to see if anyone from this group is able to share their experiences with you, you could post this question in ask a nurse and one of the specialist nurses will respond within 2 working days.

When you feel up to it, it would be really useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hi Talulah, I hope you have found some relief of pain by now. When you say you've had treatment do you mean you had a wide local excision, laser surgery or partial vulvectomy surgery for Vin? It definitely depends on how much was done and how many stitches you have...did your surgeon give you an idea how long you'd be laid up? I've always had to take over the counter meds like motrin or tylenol alternating every 3-4 hours and tried saving pain meds for night. I sure hope you are not in so much pain since your post on the 14th.
