Hello,
I went to the doctor's on NYE after discovering a growth of some sort within my vagina. The doctor checked and said I have multiple growths of various sizes. I have also been having a bit of spotting for a few days as well as a horrible pressure feeling, like I'm having a prolapse or something. The doctor said definitely no prolapse and not cysts. He's referred me to gynaecologist for biopsy etc. I'm absolutely terrified. I lost my husband to brain cancer three year ago and I have a ten year old and a three year old who need me so much. I'm only 31 and I just don't know how I've managed to be the unluckiest person in the world. My daughter is a twice cancer survivor (clear for 6 years now) and my little boy has autism. I really don't have the energy for much more....
My question I guess is, what can I expect from this point onwards towards a diagnosis. I feel like I'm totally on my own with the journey :(
Hi the mrs,
im so sorry for everything you have been through, that's definitely enough for ten lifetimes.
my experience is with my dodgy womb but I thought I'd send you a message whilst you wait for replies. I imagine they will be able to give you a diagnosis after they biopsy (and test the sample). If you want to speed things along you could put your name down for cancellations, that worked for me.
Id recommend giving the Macmillan helpline a call and asking to speak with a nurse, they can give you some general advice about what you can expect and can also point you in the direction of support in your area, they are on 0808 808 0000. I've found a leaflet from a NHS hospital which gives a bit of information about taking samples, its at:
https://www.guysandstthomas.nhs.uk/resources/patient-information/gynaecology/vulva-vagina-biopsy.pdf
i had a biopsy taken from my womb in a clinic appointment, it wasn't too bad, I took painkillers before my appointment, you could ask if you are allowed to do that too.
you might also find the gynaecologist nurse specialist at the eve appeal helpful, they are at:
https://eveappeal.org.uk/supporting-you/ask-eve/
I don't get messages back when you reply as I'm not a member of this group but if you want to chat click on my name and add me as a friend and send me a private message and I'll get back to you or drop in on the womb group and post there.
lots of love

Hi I was diagnosed in August with clear cell adenocarcinoma. The gynaecologist took a tissue sample. I was offered surgery and follow up radiotherapy.
I can only suggest try and stay positive, it is hard but you will come through it. This site is great for information and support. You are not alone. If you have questions put them on the site.
Best Brenda
Hi Therms
I was diagnosed with stage 2 (sqemus carcinoma) vaginal cancer in October, I had biopsies taken, then an MRI and then the news.
I've had 25 sessions of radiotherapy, 4 chemotherapy (they cancelled the 5th due to hearing issues!) and then 4 high does brachytherapy, just waiting for an MRI in 3 weeks to see if it's all gone, if not it will mean surgery.
I was bleeding quite bad after sex and had constant water infections, it took nearly 12 months of going to my GP to get them to refer me to see a gynecologist, ended up going private in the end!
I know how you feel and I completely understand the worry, it's just totally rubbish especially what you've been through, I really hope it's something and nothing.
You're not on you're own, we're here to off load to when you need us.

Hi,
Have you spoken with the radiotherapy staff, they will give you some medication to help. I avoided certain foods to help this nothing too spicy, cabbage, chick peas, beans, the department gave me a list of what to avoid. Take care Brenda
