Since then had 16 rounds of chemo and last Thursday had wide local excision and sentinel node biopsy. My MRI showed no signs of visible cancer, but just waiting on results in a few weeks time so still a little anxious. Will need radiotherapy too.
Well done on getting through your treatment so far Blondeya72bff . Still going through it myself and I know what it takes both physically and mentally and probably by far the worst aspect is waiting for results. I really hope the news is positive for you. x
Thank you. I hope everything goes really well for you too. What stage you at in your treatment? The chemo took so much out of me especially the EC chemo known as 'red devil' . Good luck with your journey x
Congratulations on getting towards the end of your treatment plan Blondeya72bff
I think most people find radiotherapy a lot easier than chemo. I had the 5 day protocol, it was spread over a weekend so it gave me a small bit of respite in the middle. Tiredness can hit you afterwards, and of course it comes when you are still recovering from chemo. I had burning and peeling along my scar and the underboob area, which came up 6 weeks or so after treatment and took 3 weeks to settle down. I found Aveeno dexerma cream (the blue label bottles) worked well. I still use it to this day and my radiotherapy was in Nov 22!

I am a Macmillan volunteer.
I have metastatic Triple Negative Breast Cancer, in remission
Thank you Blondeya72bff .
I originally started on adjuvant chemo in late April after having a successful lumpectomy and SLNB in December and had one dose of EC on that, which floored me for a few days afterwards but I found this lifted pretty quickly and I felt totally normal by day 6.
Unfortunately I had an early local recurrence confirmed five days after starting that so we switched to a new neo-adjuvant regime three weeks ago. I'm currently on 3 weekly Pembro for 21 weeks, 3 weekly Carbo for 12 weeks and weekly Paclitaxel for 12 weeks, then I'll be having 3 weekly EC for the remaining 9 along with the Pembro. Doing really well with side effects so far (touch wood!)
I'm looking at further surgery and adjuvant treatment down the line but I'm only looking as far ahead as I need to right now. My goal has shifted from getting this done quickly, which is definitely where I was just over a month ago, to getting this done right.
