Hi

Has anyone experienced a sudden loss of appetite and severe weight loss after finishing tnbc treatment?

Many thanks

  • Hi Basket

I am sorry that you have not yet had a response to your post but sometimes it can just take a few days longer. By me replying it will bump your post and hopefully someone who has experienced this will see it and offer some support.

My own cancer was endometrial and I have been through 2 years of regular check ups. During these I was told always to report any loss of weight and appetite. Perhaps it would be best to make an appointment to get things checked out.

Alternatively you could give the Macmillan Support Line a call and talk it through with one of the nurses.

I hope that you can get checked out soon to see what has caused this. I know for me my treatments did lead to some weight loss due to side effects.

  • Hi, my appetite is going but not losing any weight. I'm still eating but definitely not as much and I sometimes feel I don't want to eat. My treatment finished in mid October but now having radiotherapy. X

  • Hi both jane2511 and Tri Neg 2025 ...

I finished my radiotherapy in February this year, I had 3 weeks of treatment .. I was also on pembrolizumab immunotherapy which I finished in July this year ... reading through the LATE side effects of pembrolizumab which can start some months after treatment has finished ... LACK OF APPETITE AND WEIGHT LOSS is rare but can happen ... I  had a CT scan on 11th December and it's a 2 week wait for the results.

I have since discovered that I am now allergic to fish, it's been twice now,  only having had a morsel of it, oh man I was violently sick for 3 hours with diarrhea to had to it.

Also, I am on medication for an underactive thyroid, which was overactive before my TNBC diagnosis.

Many thanks for getting back to me

    Allison
