Hi, I’ve recently been diagnosed with tnbc and had ct scan and full body bone scan which shows no spread. Then I had to have a pet scan. Has anyone else had to have this after other scans were clear.
thank you.
I'm sorry too, but we have to stay positive,
I was exactly the same, you'll be ok once you start treatment, it's the unknown that's hard, I find I'm up and down emotionally though, that's my horrible side effects of the chemo, How long ago wasyou diagnosed? Someone said to me we're just climbing a ladder an we're gonna get to the top ️
Yes my lump was pretty big from the start, it was 27mm, I have a second lump that measures 13mm but I couldn't feel that one I found my lump in October an when going to the doctors was told it was a cyst an given antibiotics, it obviously didn't budge to go back again an another doctor tell me it wasn't a cyst an needed to be referred, I had 3 scan appointments cancelled each one re booked for another few weeks time due to strikes, I finally got my appointment in March an they did the biopsy xx
I was diagnosed in may, but because I had a lymph node involved, they wanted to do scans to make sure it wasn’t in nodes in chest before I started chemo. I’ve had a ct scan, full body scan and a pet scan. All was fine. I’m seeing oncologist on Monday.
It’s very bad you was sent away first time. I have heard this lots of times. How old are you, if you don’t mind me asking xx
Oh ok, I was hoping to get an mri as I was told by my oncologist that it can bypass the lymph nodes an still spread but I haven't been give any other scans, I'm presuming they're not worried, it don make me worry any less though that's good news hun, you'll start your treatment, easier said than done but try an stay positive,
I'm 30 an most likely the reason I was sent away with it being a cyst, I don't have any family history neither, I've had a gene test done, still waiting on the results though, I was told there was a spike in younger women and this type, how old are you if you don't mind me asking too? Xx
You are so young. All I am hearing is young ladies being diagnosed. Triple negative is most common in under 40 year olds. I am 56 and also having gene testing, I worry for my daughter.
my nurse said they usually only give scans if lymph nodes involved, so that’s why you never needed any.
I was diagnosed grade 2, which is also unusual with triple negative. It’s usually high grade.
xx
Hi Leigh, I’m 35 with a 12 year old and diagnosed TNBC, grade 3! Woo - lucky us hey
I had a biopsy done on my lymph node and that came back negative, also had gene testing. Just had a CT scan. They said to get a baseline of where I am at as my lump is measuring much larger then yours. Originally it was 3.6cm however oncologist thinks it is bigger. Also probably to see if it’s spread. I am so nervous about this!
I started chemo yesterday and upto now all okay. Just slight tingling in my legs arms hands and feet. Manageable though.
I can’t believe it took 5 months to diagnose for yourself. I would have been a nervous wreck!!
This is why I signed up to this as I thought I was on my own but there are a few in the 30’s on here. Probably a lot more out in society!!
Hope everyone else is managing okay - sending love and hugs xx
Hi, yes lucky us, I always say had to be me
Oh ok hun, there so many of us going through it differently isn't there
That's good, My chemo has been manageable up to now I'm on number 9 tomorrow, starting to take it's toll abit more now but just resting as much as I can, gotta stay positive an get on with it
I was everytime they phoned to say they had to cancel due to strike, I thought am I ever going to get this checked but to be honest when you're told its definitely a cyst from a doctor you kinda think you're just wasting their time with it
I've signed up to it for that reason too an to speak to people going through the same an get any advice anyone has as we're all going through it ️ xx
