Hi
I received my diagnosis last week so keen to hear any tips from those further along the journey. The plan is Chemo before surgery. One question to start- how soon after the first oncology appointment does Chemo usually start?
Hi and sorry to hear about your diagnosis. My diagnosis confirmation was 16th Aug, my appointment with the oncologist was 21st Aug, MRI on the 30th Aug and my first chemo on 31st Aug. Obviously this will vary from hospital to hospital and will depend on other appointments like bloods or picc lines etc, but overall I think they are pretty quick to get started with TNBC.
Hi SandMac, so sorry to hear you have tnbc, it's such a shock and alot to get your head around. I've just had my first chemo treatment today. Took 18 days from seeing oncologist to starting, had my pre assessment 6 days ago. Get a Picc line next Friday as appointment for that delayed because of Christmas and new year. Hope everything goes well x
