Yesterday I got diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer stage 3. , massive shock , I am worried about chemotherapy as they said I have to have that first to shrink it before surgery, the nurse was fantastic and she said she will ring me this week to go through it all again as I can’t remember much. I am 59 and always looked after myself but now I feel like why. Any information would be welcome..many thanks elaine
Hi Elainediva sorry to hear of your diagnosis, I can relate to the shock as I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, though not triple negative. I had chemo before surgery and that shrunk my 55mm lump to almost nothing, so a good response and meant I could have a lumpectomy.
I also forgot a lot of what they told me and I scribbled lots of notes during my appointments and kept a book with all my notes, side effects, things to remember to ask etc.
Hope this helps.
Hi Elainediva
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in September 2020 and after having chemo, surgery and radiotherapy I am now cancer free.
Wishing you the best of luck with your treatment when you start it.
Best wishes
