Yesterday I got diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer stage 3. , massive shock , I am worried about chemotherapy as they said I have to have that first to shrink it before surgery, the nurse was fantastic and she said she will ring me this week to go through it all again as I can’t remember much. I am 59 and always looked after myself but now I feel like why. Any information would be welcome..many thanks elaine

  •  Hi   sorry to hear of your diagnosis, I can relate to the shock as I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, though not triple negative. I had chemo before surgery and that shrunk my 55mm lump to almost nothing, so a good response and meant I could have a lumpectomy.

I also forgot a lot of what they told me and I scribbled lots of notes during my appointments and kept a book with all my notes, side effects, things to remember to ask etc.

    Hope this helps.

  • Hi Elainediva

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in September 2020 and after having chemo, surgery and radiotherapy I am now cancer free.

Wishing you the best of luck with your treatment when you start it.

    Best wishes
