Just been diagnosed. I’m reeling. I had my eye removed 7 years ago due to a catastrophic malignant melanoma. I’ve lost so much to cancer already I’m just up for another fight. I don’t want to be reduced to a shell of a woman by chemo. I just want rid of it and take my chances. Advice please…. Xxx
Hi Henniepotts
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. While I won’t say chemo is easy it is doable. Treatments have improved greatly since you had your first cancer diagnosis. Your medical team will do everything in their power to make sure you stay well during treatment.
I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer last September and had 8 cycles of chemo before surgery. I didn’t have too many side effects from the chemo. I am now in remission after having chemo, surgery and radiotherapy.
I would suggest that you also join the Breast Cancer forum as that’s much busier than this one and there are plenty of people with triple negative on that forum.
Wishing you the best of luck with whatever treatment you undergo.
Best wishes

I had surgery to remove the lump first, then chemo followed by more surgery ( which caused a blood clot on my lungs as surgeon forgot to give me blood thinning jab!) to remove all lymph nodes and finally radio therapy. Now all as good as new.
Hope this helps. All the best.
