Morning everyone. I am 52 and was diagnosed with breast cancer just before Christmas. One breast lump and one lymph node affected. Have had 4 rounds of EC. MRI just before round 4 showed minimal shrinkage and lump has been painful since round 4 which has worried me. Moving on to weekly pacitaxal and carboplatin this week which I really hope does what we need it to. Anyone else not bad a good response at first but gone on to have a good result? Much love to all.
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm sorry to read that you were recently diagnosed with breast cancer and that you're worried that your first round of treatment has not been as successful as you'd hoped.
Although I don't have the experience you're looking for I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. By responding to you it will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussions list. You might also find it useful to join and post in the main breast cancer group as it's more active than this one. If this is something that you'd like to do clicking on the link I've created will take you straight there.
While you're waiting for replies it would be great if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hi kitanica68 - I’m slightly different to you as I had a lumpectomy and some lymph nodes removed on 30 March and due to start EC shortly. Can I ask how you found EC? What sort of side effects did yoexperience? Good luck with your journey xxx
I was surprised about how well I felt on ec , I felt tired but surprisingly what helped was a gentle walk regularly. I managed to still work and ride the horse. My main tip is eat a good diet plenty of roughage.
Thanks for your reply. The hispital gave me a list of side effects and went through them with me, they were very scary. I know not everyone gets all of them but I’m nervous about starting EC. Only time will tell I suppose. Good luck xx
