Hi, I've been diagnosed with Grade 2 triple negative BC and am due for a lumpectomy and lymph node biopsy on 6 September. All the waiting after mammogram recall to getting a consultation and now surgery has been bad but my worry now is getting the results and finding out the treatment plan. BUT my next appointment isn't until October 2nd which is 26 days! PLUS IN the news it says both consultants and junior doctors will be striking then so my appointment will be cancelled!!
Has anyone else had what seems like forever to find out the results and start the next stage of treatment?? Or repeat of lumoectomy if no clear margins?? Still slso waiting for my son to have an appointment after scans finishing his chemo to see if he needs any further treat - finished chemo 1st August.
How do you cope? Any suggestions? As time goes on without knowing when I will get results and treatment continuing is not doing me any good.thanks

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer and that your son has been having treatment for cancer. Like you I've had quite a long wait for results and for the next stage of treatment. I'm having my operation the same date as you after a nearly six week wait. The reason that I had such a long wait was because the Breast clinic at the hospital I go to is very busy.
I cope by keeping busy doing things that I love to do like getting out in the fresh air at least once a day and reading a lot. You could also give meditation a try. There are some good apps like Breathe and Calm that you can download for free.
