So diagnosed with TNBC 22nd July then started chemo, one more left to do after Christmas before I then have surgery. As my lump has shrunk I can have lumpectomy however I want mastectomy as feel while breast tissue is still there it can come back. Anyone else share experience?

  • Did you have chemotherapy first?   Everybody’s treatment plan is different. Good luck with your appointment. You may well need a belts and braces radiotherapy course.
Im sure everyone worries about cancer returning but keep positive. Big hugs x

  • Yes chemo first then mastectomy no Radiotherapy needed. x

  • It’s never easy going for updates/results   Try your best to keep focused bless you. Keep in touch xx

  • No straight to surgery as they said it was better because my lump was small , still waiting to see oncologist for the rest of the plan . Good luck to you too x

  • Hi there,

Just been reading thru previous chats and wondering how your getting on now?

    regards x

  • Hi

I had lumpectomy but they found a new cancer on the edge of the tissue so I require more surgery.started chemo June had 2 so far EC and been ok . How you doing ? X

  • This TNBC seems to be a difficult one to be rid of. They offered me a lumpectomy or double mastectomy as it have cancer in both they found. I felt having lumpectomies was a short term solution and I want rid of it so decided on double mastectomyI had my SLNB last week I’m just recovering from and awaiting to see if it’s spread to my lymph nodes before my planned mastectomy 31st this month to know what needs to be removed and agree a treatment plan following this, but I have been told I will need chemo. I am hearing a lot of lumpectomies needing to be redone as further cancer found which tells me I’ve made the right decision removing both breasts. Wishing you all a speedy recovery from this horrid disease and to let you know your not alone in your battle. There are many warriors fighting the same battles and are here supporting each other along the way . Massive hugs to you.

  • Hi, gosh bless you that must of been a shock. I’m doing ok thanks. Started my first dose of zoladronic acid 3 weeks ago which made me tired and achy and had physio because of muscle damage after surgery.
Hope you cope with the chemo,I found the EC gruesome, the Red Devil we called it Joy
I wish you well and keep strong xx
