Hi,

I had chemotherapy, Lumpectomy and lymph node clearance, radiotherapy and tablet chemo and finished all treatments in December last year.

I have lymphedema in my Right breast, arm and hand and noticed my boob is a bit worse and arm is aching more.  The lymphedema nurse has referred me back to breast care clinic and I will see them Tuesday.

I’m wondering how scared I should be.  I get some numbness in arm after sleeping and my bones aching at night.  The problem is menopause and cancer recurrence symptoms are similar. I’m hoping it’s nothing but can’t help but start thinking of how and when any treatment plan would start if cancer is found.  I am also worried re bone cancer I’m guessing a mammogram wouldn’t highlight that.

planing to travel for a wedding at end of month will this affect travel insurance will I still be able to go if I need treatment anyone had scare and can  give me their experiences.
thanks

  • Hi LLcoolJ

They are no doubt making sure that everything is alright as your boob is looking a bit worse and your arm is aching.  I know it's easy for me to say but try not to be scared as it may be nothing.  If they are concerned that it's in the bones they will arrange for you to have a bone scan and maybe a CT Scan as well.

Unfortunately I can't answer the Insurance question for you but if you like there is an Travel Insurance forum on the site which you ;can join to get information about travel insurance.  This is the link:  Travel insurance forum for cancer patients

In the meantime while you are waiting for your appointment for the breast clinic try to keep yourself busy by doing things that you love to do.

Wishing you the best of luck with your appointment and hopefully everything will be alright.

    Best wishes
