Hi there, I’ve just found out that I have tnbc and feel even more devastated when I’m reading that it’s a more difficult cancer to treat and not as successful. I’m due to start chemo next week and although I’m trying to be positive all this research is making me feel worse
Hi there, I just wanted to respond to your post. I was diagnosed with tnbc in May 2014 and I am still here!
it had spread to 2 of my lymph nodes. I had FEC-T chemo, lumpectomy and radiotherapy and with the FEC I definitely noticed my lump shrinking, not so much of a change during the T part of the chemo. Tnbc does respond in the main really well to chemo, so please keep the faith, stop googling as the information does not take into account the changes to the treatment available. Take care x
Hi, Just wanted to reach out to you to say please stay with this site. It is full of wonderful people who understand and it has helped me immensely on this rollercoaster of a journey when it began for me in 2013. I am 7+ years clear now and life is good. Please don’t delve into the internet, most of the research on there for TNBC is outdated. Stick to the main sites you know like this one.
Good luck, sending you big hugs x
Thanks, it all still feels a bit surreal tbh.xx
That’s totally understandable and exactly how I felt at the beginning. Once you have your treatment plan and get started on that, you will feel more in control. You will have good days and not so good days but as lots of women on here will tell you, it’s definitely doable. See treatment as your friend to defeat the enemy, every session bringing you closer to your end goal. You can definitely do this x
Hello, I just finished my chemo 7 weeks ago and radiotherapy 2 1/2 weeks ago. I felt really upset when they told me it was unclear but probably TNBC which required chemo. I was devastated when they told me I needed chemo as well as RT.
Here I am having finished it and looking forward to having the best chance possible of living a long and full life like the ladies above. The internet is not your friend, the treatments today are way better than they were even 5-10 years ago. Your team will give you the best treatment for your unique cancer situation.
Some days are harder than others but it’s totally doable. Support on the June 2021 chemo group is fabulous, lots of people just starting and some like myself just finishing. Lots of really good tips and advice on SE and coping.
best wishes for your journey.
