Hi, i got blurry vision after EC chemo/immunotherapy. Eyes are fine as per Moorfields, just dry and yellow crusties. Eventually month 2 white slime. Iv had sinus and chest infections, hospitalised 3 times. No doctor can say what is going on but think its the immunotherapy. Blurry eyed for 2 months is mentally exhausting. Maybe theres something they are not telling me. Referral from Moorfields in November....Either way if anyone has info please let me know.

  • Hi

I assume the immunotherapy is Pembrolizumab? I didn’t have eye issues on it but I did have other major issues related to it. Kidney and lung damage. Loss of thyroid. By removing PD-1 systemically from your body it can mean the immune system attacks healthy cells. Eye toxicity is listed as one of the possible side effects. I think your oncologist should be working on the basis that immunotherapy is the likely cause and treating you accordingly. If you haven’t been given steroid eye drops, ask why. Ask if you need oral steroids. Essentially most immunotherapy issues tie back to inflammation.

  • Thank you and sorry it caused you such issues. The eye clinic prescribed antibiotics and other eye drops bug no steroids. I suspect as I had more treatment. I stopped treatment due to bring hospitalized. It caused me lung damage , infections aswell. Im now at west Middlesex as northwick didnt seem on top of it. Il be brutally honest. 2 months like this. They did nothing.

  • I would definitely push for steroid eye drops
