Hi I was diagnosed on 31st March with grade 2 invasive ductal breast cancer, biopsy results have come back neg for hormone receptors but the HER2 results were borderline. I have my surgery booked for next Wed where I’ll have a wide local excision and sentinel node biopsy it’s an olive sized tumour. I’ve been told that they will test the tumour to determine the HER2 status but believe it will most likely be neg. My treatment plan has changed from chemo 1st to surgery 1st and I’ll have radiotherapy following surgery then chemo. I’ve been reading up on triple neg and stage 2 breast cancer and scared myself stupid !! Anyone with similar diagnosis???
thanks

Jules x

  • Hi

I was diagnosed grade 3 invasive ductal triple negative breast cancer and had surgery, FEC chemo x 6 then radiotherapy. This was in 2013, so I know its difficult but try and power through your treatment and only read information on reputable websites like this one. A lot of the information on google is out of date and there are numerous ladies (and gents) on this site with a wealth of useful tips. This was invaluable to me when I began in my journey over 6 years ago. All the best x

Hi there thank you, 6 years on that’s cheered me up so thank you. All very detached at the moment it’s hard not being able to see friends and family and a lot of my appointments have been over the phone just feel like I’m on a rollercoaster of ups and downs and I’m not a very ‘up and down’ person

  • It’s completely normal to feel the way you are, especially with everything that’s going on also. It is a rollercoaster and I’m not saying you won’t have down days, but once you you begin your treatment plan you will feel more in control. I used to think of each step of treatment as ammunition to defeat the enemy ! It’s 6 months of your life where you battle down the hatches and plough through it. Im quite a positive person and this journey does test you but you can do this. X

    Thank you xx

  • I forgot to say, might be worth filling in your profile on the main page, just a few lines about you diagnosis, age ect as saves time explaining things sometimes. Also a lot of people join the main breast cancer page as that’s a bit more active. I think there is also a monthly chemo page too for when you begin so if you want to you can chat to others starting chemo the same time. This site is brilliant as people understand what you are going through x

    Hello Jules

My understanding is that if you are HER2 Negative you don't need Herceptin or Chemo?

    Please read my profile

    Best wishes - J

Just had my annual mammogram and yay I am clear and it is now 4 years with no recurrence! I feel well now. I had grade 3 ductal. Wide local incision, Sentinel node biopsy (clear). FEC x 4, and radiotherapy. It was very scary at the time. It took quite a while to get all my energy back. I now try really hard to avoid stress and try to do things I love often. I have after all been given a second chance and I don’t want to waste it! Best wishes for successful journey.

i was diagnosed with TNBC in July 2018, i didn't google until 6 months in (Why i googled then i have no idea) and it scared the life out of me.

But like  and i am now cancer free, i have just had my first anniversary. So forget what it says on Google, we are proof that you can kick this thing.

There will be times you're scared thats just natural but keep positive too.

You can do this and you will xx
