Hi

My SIL has been diagnosed with TNBC Stage 2 Grade 3. Tumour in breast and detected in 1 lymphnode. She has started treatment which so far is reacting well and she can no longer feel the growth however her body scan showed 8mm mark on lung and liver. They didn't say it was cancer just said it could be anything and will keep an eye on it if it grows etc they will add extra chemo drugs on. Can this be anything? Have any of you had similar problems?

    Hi

Sorry to read your SIL has been diagnosed with TN :-/

I'm assuming by treatment you mean chemotherapy ?  Scans can pick up a whole host of (hopefully) benign nodules, scarring and historic conditions like previous surgery, car accident damage etc - as long as they are monitoring these for any changes that is the main thing.

The scary thing of course is the liver and lungs are two areas that breast cancer can migrate to, fingers crossed this turns out to be nothing of concern but if they are, the chemo has maximum effect on them.

Fingers crossed for you both, G n' J

Thank you. She would be prone to cysts. She also had a collapsed lung as a baby so the lung mark could also be scarring from that. They arent looking into them any deeper at the minute so that made me think(hope) that they wouldnt be anything to worry to much about right now. Yes she has just had her second cycle of chemo on Friday her tumour has responded really well and you can no longer feel it.

    Thank you
