Hi everyone
so I’m a newbie to all of this, I’ve just joined the big ‘C’ club with a diagnosis of Triple negative breast cancer.
i have lots of tests still to undergo and haven’t yet begun treatment. - expected to start chemo first in approx 2 weeks
so just wanted to say hi , I’m in a positive mindset and hoping to find some local yoga/meditation/relaxation groups that are geared towards cancer patients as I believe they are more relevant and focused. If anyone knows of any local, that would be fab. I’m in Kent (Larkfield)
Hello
Welcome to the online community none of us ever planned to be part of but under the circumstances best place to be. I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer last year, i am now cancer free.
My treatment started with chemotherapy so if you need any questions answering give me a shout and i'll try to help best i can. Having a positive mindset definitely makes it easier to cope with, my way of looking at it was always worrying or feeling sad was not going to make it go away, it would just make me feel worse. So positive thoughts all the way. Saying that, if you do have a bad day, don't worry about it, come talk to us let it run its course and remember tomorrow is another day.
This group is quite so you may want to also post in The breast cancer group, there are lots more people who go in there and will give you lots of support and advice. Once you start your chemo there is also a monthly chemotherapy group, this is the link for this month August chemotherapy chat group go say hello, you'll find lots of people who are going through the same as you or who have been through the same. It helps to talk to people who totally understand what you're going through.
So don't be a stranger come and rant, shout, cry and we even have a laugh.
Hi
thank u. I’m probably going to have lots of questions in the coming weeks/months.
i’m relieved to hear your journey. I am a little nervous awaiting results of the sentinel lymph node biopsy this week and also the genetic blood test.
My family and friends have all been quite upset and I have remained strong but had a minor blip today as my young son 11 is due to start senior school in September (only one left at home) and he has adhd so needs some transitioning so I really need to be present for him.
thank you for the reassurance, no doubt the rants will come xx
i had signs of cancer in my lymph nodes, but after chemotherapy i had 3 removed when i had my first lumpectomy and they were clear.
Be sure to mention your concerns to your oncologist about your son and i'm sure they'll work round it with you, mine were brill and held off my treatment for a couple of weeks to fit round my work.
xx
