Hiya mine is also triple negative, my advice to you is DO NOT GOOGLE IT!!!!

I didn't know i was triple negative until 8 months into treatment, it never crossed my mind to ask. So i came home and googled it and it absolutely frightened me to death. But the lovely people on here put my mind at rest. Google is so out of date and treatments have advanced so much.

This group is very quiet it seems we are a rare kind so my advice would be to also post in The Breast Cancer Group as more people look in there and will respond.

Please remember everyone is different and everyone's treatment is different. Keep popping on here and asking questions. No question is a silly one xx

Thank you Script Fan.  I did google it  - apparently I should be african/american, under 40 and have an inverted nipple and will probably not survive 5 years.  None of that applies - and I certainly plan to be around for longer than 5 years!!

I will go on the other page you suggested too, thank you.

When you see your Oncologist they should be able to give you your Predict 5, 10 and 15-year survival stats, as long as they have all the information they need. Don't forget that these survival stats take into account dying of other non-cancer causes e.g road traffic accidents, heart disease, etc. I decided to use this information to prioritize my life - decide where to go on holiday first, when to retire, what to say no thanks to etc. I am a bit of a 'glass half full person' and thought at least I have the opportunity to organize my life. Prioritize looking after yourself during the surgery, chemo and radiotherapy phase first. I found that stuff that used to annoy me I just don't care about anymore which does wonders for my blood pressure. I am triple neg and my 10-year survival figure is 83%, this is based on a very small lump that I found quickly with no spread to lymph nodes.

    Hi Snorkeler

Thank you for your reply and the info.  I'm definately going to ask for my Predict stats - I didnt even know about that until you told me.

I hope your treatment is going well.  Take care
