My wife was diagnosed  with TNBC in April  23 undertook 6 months  of chemo before a lumpectomy  and three lymph  nodes  being removed .

After first op was told chemo hadn't  worked , a further operation  was undertaken  followed  by 19 radiotherapy  appointments  and a further  6 months of oral  chemo this finished in September.

Yesterday  she found a new lump in the collar  bone area and she is waiting  on a urgent  oncology  appointment  absolutely  devastated  is it the original  cancer or a new one .as chemotherapy  didn't  work what can they do

  • Hi Kev61

Sorry to hear that your wife was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer and that her chemo didn't work.  While I'm  not a expert the lump in the collar bone area could be a swollen lymph node.

Wishing your wife the best of luck with her appointment and hopefully it will be nothing serious.

    Best wishes

  • Hi daisy  sorry to say my wife's  scan yesterday  shows two new tumours  in the collar  bone area don't know what to expect  but she is taking  this news bad

  • I am sorry to hear that, it must be devastating for both of you. I have metastatic TNBC (spread to my liver, found in September 22j. I don’t know whether we have the same type of TNBC (it’s not all the same) but there are treatments available for a number of the subtypes. Mine is PD-L1 positive and was treated with the immunotherapy Pembrolizumab, which has put me in remission. Hopefully they will have tested her original tumour, and will biopsy the new ones, and one of the newer treatments will be suitable.

  • Thanks for the reply   my wife  also suffers  from rheumatoid  arthritis  they previously  wanted to put her on a stage 3 trial drug but her oncology  consultant  was refused  by someone  higher up

To me would  rather  have her in a wheelchair . than not being  here

  • Hi Kev61
