I saw my Oncologist this week. So I will be having chemo over an 18 week period.
9 weeks of Paclitaxel (Taxol) and carboplatin (PC) once a week
9 weeks of Epirubicin and cyclophosphamide (EC) once every 3 weeks
She said I'm healthy (apart from being fat and being on mild blood pressure medication) so this has informed her decision.
I actually thought it was funny that they weighed me for dosing. It's like a veterinary practice because they dose according to an animal's weight. She said, yep, it really is that crude, unfortunately.
She sent a request for a chair and the request for an MRI is being reviewed. She reckons I'll start week after next.
Good luck HunkyDory
That seems like a full on chemo regime. Won't you have any break weeks? I'm on gemcarbo on a 3 week cycle - day 1 gemcitzbine and carboplatin, day 8 gemcitabine, day 15 nothing. Day 15 of the cycle tomorrow and I have to say I'm grateful for the day 15 nothing.
Take care.
Hi HunkyDory I’m on same chemo treatment plan as you but the other way round. I’ve done the three EC and going for my first Paclitaxel on Monday. EC wasn’t as bad as I was expecting and I found it easier as it went on but everyone is different. Just wanted to wish you good luck xx
