Hi everyone
So I was diagnosed last Wednesday with Grade 3, early stage Triple Negative Breast Cancer which hasn't really sunk in yet. I Had my MRI today and should get results in around 2 weeks and the next stop is my first oncology appointment tomorrow so I guess that will be to go over the plan already discussed with me at the results appointment and when chemotherapy and immunotherapy starts.
I will admit, when I first looked up this particular sub-type, I was pretty frightened but have since realised I need to concentrate on what the specialist told me in that it is 100% curable for which I feel extremely lucky as I only came across the 29mm lump because of shooting pains that started just before I found it (thank god for this pain) and I know there are still risks etc but I have learnt to only look on Dr Google for recent information.
I hope to chat with others going through the same as I think it really helps.
Bye for now xxxx
Hi Seabreeze2025,
im sorry to hear of your very recent diagnosis. Hopefully you have lots of support around you that you can lean into. I was diagnosed last October, similarly to you with early stage tnbc, mine was a 39mm tumour. I’ve been one of the lucky ones having had no major issues during chemotherapy and no remaining tumour found when I had surgery in April. I’m still on immunotherapy and part way through radiotherapy. I lost energy and strength in chemo but kept making myself get out each day with the dog (often rewarding myself with a coffee) and generally tried to stay active and eating healthily. I’ve used two charities for their cancer related exercise and nutrition sessions and found them to be v helpful- Penny Brohn and Future Dreams. Good luck on your journey- I hope it allows goes well- you’ll get out the other side.
Hi HBr
Sorry to hear you have been going through the same and your journey sounds very positive which is uplifting to read and very good to hear there was no evidence of the tumour left. That must have been a massive relief, especially with what you have been through.
Good on you for getting out and about, luckily I've been doing alot of walking recently to get fit and I just hit my goal weight so can only be a good thing. We have a dog too so another good reason to get outside and often reward a long walk with a coffee, it really gives me a boost and motivates me to get those steps in.
Thanks for the info about the exercise, I will definitely have a look at that.
Good luck to you too and all the best for your recovery. x
