So I posted a couple of weeks ago saying I had been called in for a f2f. Results were inconclusive but recommendation is to have partial removal and then further testing on the nodule. So, surgery in a couple of weeks.
Good luck.
I’m 2 weeks post surgery. My results were concerning so they removed half of my thyroid.
Hopefully that’s it. Waiting for (hopefully) my last appointment is proving quite stressful. Fingers crossed I will know in a couple of weeks.
My advice, after your surgery, even if you feel ok still rest and take it as easy as you can!!
Thank you for this. One of the things I’m feeling is “do I have any right to be on this forum?” At present it is suspected, but will be confirmed or not after further testing of the lump. I want to also ask if that changes my rights when I return to work as I want to request returning part time.
I hope your results are amazing and it is indeed your last appointment.
Thank you! I’m currently thinking up cool
srories for the soon to be scar!
Well I’m on here and although i was told I did have cancer they then called me back to say that my results were badly written and I might not have cancer.
so I’m hopefully here under false pretences but I think if there’s a possibility that this is a support group and I’m sure you have as much right as anyone to be here
work I can’t help you with, although I’m doing the maths to see if I can drop a few hours but will just have a meeting with my manager to see what’s doable. Guess it will depend on what job you do and if part time hours are viable to that business. Hopefully they are.
I love the idea of people having 'imposter syndrome' on the Mac cancer site.
We're here for everybody who wants to be here - if they have cancer, might have cancer, thought they had it, know somebody they care about who has it....... ooh, such a lot of reasons.
Don't worry, we won't throw you off for not being poorly enough :-)
Best wishes

With regards to the scar, it's obviously going to be a wound from a knife fight - "You should see the other guy!"
I once had a Compeed blister plaster on my foot from a scuba fin rub injury which I told the dive master was the reconstruction from a shark bite. I think for a moment he actually believed me.
My scar is very good and only somebody who knows what they are looking for would ever spot it. But over the 15 years since I had surgery, I have occasionally met somebody with the thyroidectomy scar, mentioned it, and agreed we're in a very special 'club'.
Best wishes
Barbara
